It is a great joy for me that following the premiere of The Crucified, such a wide range of thoughtful and in-depth reflections have emerged on the work. I find it particularly valuable that reviews, interviews, and discussions have all appeared – together offering a nuanced picture of how the piece has reached its audience.
I am especially honored that among these responses one finds statements such as “Kecskés D.’s incandescent oratorio could easily become a global modern classic” (Alexandra Ivanoff), and that The Crucified has been described as “not only a highly sophisticatedly crafted score, but also music that touches the listener, is capable of evoking profound emotion, speaks directly, and invites reflection: a new value in Hungarian composition” (Kristóf Csengery).
Below I have collected the articles and video materials published so far, from which readers are welcome to explore freely.
The review by Alexandra Ivanoff is the only English-language piece; all other materials are available in Hungarian.
